Description

I'd been waiting ages to find the right artist to create a Nick Fury of Shield commission (Ultimates version). When I saw some of Eranga Devasurendra's commissions, I knew that he'd be perfect. The result is a really cool piece with fab Avengers references, a pop of colour and a lovely nod to Steranko too.

I've always admired Steranko's cover for Nick Fury Agent of Shield #4. Eranga said he would incorporate the spirit of that cover but make it different in terms of layout and pose. He kept the spirit but did his own fabulous thing

If it's all hand drawn, then this already scores high on the effort category. The choices made here are strong to turn this more Avengers centric than spy era reflecting how movie audiences have changed since then. The figure of Nick Fury as the focal point of all the patterns that swirl around him looks as smooth and confident as ever. The smartest man in the room with all the angles.

Eranga said his eyes are starting to go back to normal after working on this piece lol! All the work is hand done - he's a marvel!
