Finally some Steve "The Dude" Rude!

I luckily got to see the Dude a couple times on day one of the 1994 SDCC. First at the inaugural Jack Kirby Tribute Panel, and later at an original art booth. I didn't know it was him, there just happened to be a really tall guy to my right rummaging through OA bins as I was. He was so close that the thin stack of OA he had cradled in his left arm was curling backwards and occasionally poking me on the side of my head. When I finally took the time to actually look at the page that was poking me I saw a really cool Jack Kirby Jimmy Olsen page (today, I'm wanting to say it was some Mokkari & Simyan page). I said something like, "Cooool Kirby!" And as he turned to me I added, "Hey, the Dude!" We had a quick love of Kirby and his original art moment, a couple pleasantries, and then went back to our bins.

I did expect my first Rude page to be a Nexus piece, but am just as happy with the Dude's work with Jerry Ordway writing on this Superman, OMAC & Dr. Skuba closer to their 10-pager called "Seed of Destruction."
