Description

got into a rafael albuquerque groove when i started reading 'american vampire' from vol 1 to the present. really like his strong poses, narrative storytelling and brushy line work. maybe it's just me, but there's a sort of 'neal adams' vibe in his art. of all the art i've collected, i probably have the most pieces by him. and it probably didn't hurt that i took advantage of cadence comic arts year end sales (bless them :)

when AV 'second cycle' began, albuquerque started adding in ink washes to his art and that just added a new layer of depth, atmosphere and mood to his pieces. all good attributes to enhance already fine art.
