B.P.R.D. 1946 Issue 2 Page #23

The first arc featuring one of the biggest and compelling "bad guys" of the Mignolaverse- Varvera! This is the first sliver of her origin story. I love how Paul transitioned from a flashback to the current story- really nice symmetry in the panels between this and 24. I have kept these two paired for display.

This page certainly has all the Mignola design elements that the story naturally would gravitate towards some dark origins. The demonic stare transition between the two pages is great storytelling that both writer and artist can be proud of.
