Reilly Brown took on my odd request for an MCU Aunt May sketch at the Baltimore Comic Con and he really did great! He doesn�t like doing likenesses so I didn�t really ask for one and was surprised when I got one. I think of a more modern Aunt May as just �on model� for properties going forward. While sure, I think Marissa Tomei is pretty and all, I really just like that for a high school aged Peter Parker, they�ve reset Aunt May to not be so ancient. I liked it when the Andrew Garfield movie series used Sally Field too. It just makes sense to break from the old comics mold that defined ages clearly into �kid, young person, middle aged man (comics didn�t do too much with middle aged women unless they were some wealthy politician�s or business magnate�s wife) and elderly person.� There�s no reason Archie Andrews should be in high school yet his parents were drawn as though they were at death�s door. Anyway, I really like how this turned out and have been loving commissioning Spider family characters more recently.
