DescriptionThis is the Joker #6 cover by Ernie Chan from 1976.My collection isn’t completed without one of these covers and I love the Joker in his old school style. These vintage covers are so beautiful with their original logo and stats. Joker #6 “Sherlock Stalks The Joker!” is about… Clive Sigerson, an actor playing Sherlock Holmes in a theater play, believes he really is the Great Detective when the Joker hits him over the head with a pipe. Accordingly, he sees the Joker as Professor Moriarity, and goes on the hunt for him. The Joker, on the other hand, has set out to recreate some of the most famous crimes solved by the fictional detective and he is delighted to be confronted by the actor. On a couple of occasions, Joker manages to pull the crimes, outsmarting the fake Sherlock Holmes, but the Clown Prince of Crime eventually meets his match when Sherlock finds a vital clue thanks to his assistant, Watson, and captures the Joker for good. Indeed a grail, especially for your collection. It has a great vintage look and yes the logo gives the cover a special feeling.

Now this is what a cover should do - create excitement for the story inside, causing a potential reader to want to buy the issue to see what happens next! This is a fantastic piece of Joker history!

Oh wow!!! I loved this original Joker series and the covers from this run are all amazing! What an epic score this particular cover is! Chan was on fire in the mid '70s and he captured the Joker of the era perfectly. Major congrats my friend!!!

Oh wow, absolutely love this cover image! The Joker matching wits with Sherlock Holmes? Great stuff. It is so great to have those cover stats. The Joker title logo is so much fun.

HUGE congrats, Vik! Such a strong vintage feel, as you note, and just oozes "classic". Love that split screen layout - who's trapped who?! Not in my collecting wheelhouse but regardless I can surely appreciate great OA when I see it!

I love the Joker series. I imagine that was a bit of a risk back then, producing a title based on a villain instead of a hero.

Wonderful match of wits between the two very formidable literary titans diametrically and philosophically opposed to each other. Chan's cover design cleverly splits and gives equal chance of success to entice the 25 cent ringside admission from your pocket.
