DescriptionMore breathtaking action-storytelling from Immonen and von Grawbadger on a six-panel page that clips right along! The inking prowess of Wade von Grawbadger is on full display once again, as visual textures flow from the smooth arcs of bent laser blasts at the top of the page through a close-up raging battle panel, to an almost serene landscape vista (checking in with a KO-ed Iceman in the foreground), and then back to the fray and the angular, machined look of a starship’s hull. X-23 was not a character that ever really resonated with me before this run, but I really loved the dynamic she added to the classic X-Men team. She brought a nice “outsider” counterpoint into this tightly knit bunch, and the tentative romantic sparks that started to fly between young Cyclops and Wolverine’s cloned daughter were as genuinely heartwarming as they were ironically funny. Delighted to have a fantastic panel-bustin’ shot of her and Beast in action. Beautiful colors on the published page by Marte Gracia I’m really delighted to add an example of the terrific work this team produced in this great run. Thanks once again for everything, Felix! An excellent page with typically superlative pencilling and inking by the Immonen/Grawbadger team. I was not initially a fan of X-23 either, though in fairness, I had never actually read her at all. I simply disliked her existence because I hated that Marvel resorted to their typically unoriginal method of creating a new character by ripping off an already established one. But then I watched Logan and proceeded to see Daphne Keen pull off the best single performance by any actor in a superhero movie and I was turned into a fan of the character! But, in this series, there's flirtation going on between her and Scott? That seems oddly creepy. Then again, he married Madelyn Pryor because she was a visual clone of his supposedly dead wife, so I guess it's perfectly in character for him!

Bendis can be hit-or-miss for me, but I liked his work on the X-books, no doubt in part because he had excellent artists like Immonen and von Grawbadger collaborating with him. This is a great example of their work on this title.

This is the Immonen/VonGrawbadger team firing on all cylinders. Personally I feel this run was maybe career best for both artists. This is slick, kinetic, perfectly designed sequential art.

(Han han, uh-uh) uh-huh
I've known mutant guys who thought they were pretty smart
But you've got just the right Immonen art
You think Hank is a genius, he’ll climb me up the wall
You got comic art original, a fight for all
Oh-oh, the page is special
Oh-oh, this page is something else
Okay, so you're the Mutant resistance
That don't excite me as much (han han, uh-uh)
Cyclops got the brains, von Grawbadger brush
Now, don't get me wrong, yeah, The inks are alright
But that won't bring me harm in the middle of the fight
That Von impresses me much
(Han han, uh-uh) uh-huh, yeah, yeah
(Han han, uh-uh)
The optic blast one eye who carried a visor in his pocket
And some claws up her sleeves, Jean in case
And all that extra Angel in your hair ought a lock it
'Cause Bobby forbid he should fall outta place
Oh-oh, this page is special
Oh-oh, this page’s something else
Okay, so it’s Ben dis

The nuances of a budding romance between Wolvie's female clone and a return-to-innonence Cyke are mind-boggling. And Immonen's tremendous skill shows a ballet of a battle here... as always, fine eye my man !!

Definitely one of Immonen's best runs. He so seamlessly blends the amount of characters, particularly in the action sequences, into some top notch dynamic storytelling! Witness exhibit A :) Really one of the best to ever do it in that regard. Congrats on another sweet Stuart add!
