Description

I loved Ultimate Six by Trevor Hairsine, Danny Miki, and Brian Michael Bendis, so I am excited to add this awesome super crime-noir page to my collection! This page features Ultimate Spider-Man Peter Parker at the mercy of the Ultimate versions of: Norman Osborn (Green Goblin), Electro, Sandman, and Dr. Octopus. Kraven the Hunter is just off-camera in this scene, which shows Bendis' clever re-interpretation of the Sinister Six-- in Osborn's mind, Peter Parker was to be the final member of the Ultimate Six. Bendis writes Osborn as chillingly under control, reasonable, and almost relatable. SPOILER ALERT!**********Nice try, Norman!

Hairsine inked by the sharp edge of Miki is great visually on this mini that utilized the widescreen look of the Ultimates!

A superb and cinematic page, Doc! I thought this book was a great read as well, and REALLY enjoyed seeing a Hitch-like "Ultimates-ness" (in detail and artistic approach) applied to a Bendis story (and how it impacted the feel of the tale). Panel 2 is the ringer here, with the backlit antagonists and their threats coming at Peter from out of the darkness, but there are great shots of Peter throughout this page, and some wonderful, dramatic storytelling. I like how Trevor also incorporated touches from the Bagley design of the characters, too, notably the "sleeves" on the end of Doc Ock's tentacles - wicked cool continuity work. Super pick-up, Dr. F - I really love this great page!
