DescriptionInfinity Inc # 26 page 23Pencils by Todd McFarlane Inks "Embellishments" by Tony DeZuniga DC Comics - May 1986 I'm excited to add this early McFarlane page featuring some great panels and team shots. This one came with some sweet bonus art on the back. If you know me you know I love design and concept work. This page came with a Toddfather character re-design for 'Sweet' Baby Boom complete with McFarlane's note to writer Roy Thomas stating, "Roy: If readers don't like 'sweet' BABY BOOM, we could change looks to a punk. Smokes, etc, for tougher look to blend with other Helix." Todd first introduced Babe/Baby Boom in Infinity Inc. #17 August 1985 (his fourth comic book issue ever!) as a member of the Helix crew led by Mr Bones. She was a genetically altered young girl who had the ability to cause explosions with her mind. I love thinking about the fact that within a year of working with Roy Thomas McFarlane felt confident enough to pitch this character re-design on the back of the page and that Roy liked it enough to reintroduce the character using Todd's re-design two issues later in Infinity Inc #28! I'm sure Todd already had it in him but it's this kind of moment where we can see his creativity and entrepreneurial spirit shine very early in his career. Social/Sharing |

I don't remember Baby Boom (or even most of the members of Infinity Inc.), but this is a sweet early McFarlane page and has a lot going for it! Great page George!

Infinity Inc. was the series where McFarlane showed us what could be done with panel designs. Cool page from one of DC's best series of the 1980s.

Come on, that's a fantastic page all on its own AND you get a George Hage special included on the back at no extra cost! Great quality content and I love the blue pencil highlights!

Spawn protoype with Mr. Bones and cape work! Todd was pulling panel designs into play to keep himself anf the audience interested and that last two of the whole team shot split apart is very interesting to play with the timing of the thick dialogue. The character design on the back is a rarely seen bonus that would delight any fan!
