Description

Classic "Swanderson" page from a highly memorable story: Lex creates a "Galactic Golem" to destroy Superman, un-ironically comparing himself to Victor Frankenstein. After watching Superman and the Golem clash and detonate, Lex believes that he had destroyed all life on Earth as a result of their titanic battle (look up the superb and shocking cover of this issue). On this page the monster returns to destroy his creator like in the well known "Frankenstein" story by Mary Shelley. The Golem found his fans and returned several times in the 1970s+80s. Curt and Murphy will always be my favorite art team on The Man of Steel.
