DescriptionBatman (Vol 3) #70 Cover Original Art (DC, July 2019). Batman appears to be in a lot of trouble as all of his appendages are bound with extra thick ropes behind bars, his body scathed and cape tattered, as a cast of rogues look on. This issue is the first of a 5 part series titled "The Fall and the Fallen", and this specific story features approximately 20 villains! Hence, it makes sense that the cover, which could almost be considered a non-traditional "jam" piece, is full of villains. The cover (and story for that matter) is an unusual assortment without mainstays Joker, Catwoman, or Penguin, making this cover unique in its own right. Going clockwise from the left of Batman, you see Riddler, Doctor Phosphorous, Two Face, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze, Amygdala, Copperhead (I think...this is the only I am not certain of), Hush, and Professor Pyg. The cover was penciled and inked by the amazing Andy Kubert, and he did the first 2 covers in this arc (I also have the Batman 71 cover). Andy puts so much care into each character, even the ones in the background, making for a stellar piece that I don't get tired of looking at. Done on standard 11" X 17" art board. Signed in the lower right by Andy.Social/Sharing |

Fantastic bondage cover that brings peril and vulnerability to our hero! Kubert's cover ups the dramatic tension as the villains have Batman down and out!

Great bondage and cast of villains, but with all those bad guys on the other side of the bars, who defeated and tied up Batman? Well the whole purpose of cover art is to intice a purchase of the comic book. In any case congrats.

A brilliant concept. I love the irony in that Batman goes to see all his foes in a cell (why would they all be put into the same cell though?), but they get the better of him and make HIM the prisoner!
