DescriptionToyFare (issue unknown) - “Cartoon Beach Party” feature illustration 14 x 17 inches on bristol.This was one of the many, many multi-character pieces I drew for Wizard, ToyFare and Inquest - I colored them digitally too. This one was for a feature article on toys based on animated cartoons - the editors gave me a list of cartoons that would be in the article, suggested it be set at a beach and otherwise to just "go nuts" - so I picked one or two characters from each toy line that I thought would be funny to put at the beach and this was the result. A color print of this is hanging in the comiXology offices! Characters features: The Herculoids, The Baroness, Slimer, Yoda, Mr Freeze, Panthro, Willie (Simpsons), Michaelangelo, Skeletor, Stimpy, Aquaman, Raven, Rogue, Megatron, Soundwave, Brian Griffin, Smurfette, Brainy Smurf, Pig Pen, Zorak, Mer-Man, Black Manta, Inspector Gadget, Harvey Birdman and a Tab. Whew! The issue would have appeared sometime in the mid-aughts, issue number 90-110 ish, I think it was a summer issue, hence the beach theme. I usually got comp copies of ToyFare when my work appeared in it but this one slipped by. If anyone can help me identify the issue I'd really appreciate it! Social/Sharing |
