DescriptionI stopped in a very small local show today really just to get out of the house... there were a few artists there but I really did not expect to come home with anything... to my surprise and unannounced Rudy Nebres was there and had some pre done pinups and some old published warren art.. the Warren art was for show but the pinups were for sale! as I was thumbing through the portfolios I came upon this Cyclops.. stopping to check it out.. Rudy volunteered "Cyclops after frank Quietly" 85 years young and still an appreciation for the medium.. Had to add the legend to my collection!Social/Sharing |

I haven't been an X-Men fan for years (sorry, Jason! I know you're the X-Men guy) but Nebres on a single-issue story or an anuual would bring me back in heartbeat. Nebres has still got it / never lost it.
Great pickup!

Hell of a rendition of Frank's style and take on Cyclops. Congrats on scoring such a masterclass piece!

Major get from a master artist. Marvel should have gotten Nebres to be one of the many fill-in artists that we experienced during the Morrison era. Nebres clearly would have done the Quitely designs justice.

In all honesty, I've never heard of Nebres. But now I will look up his work b/c I adore this piece. Cyclops is my favorite X-character and the Morrison/Quitely era was among my favorite periods of the X-Men.
This is good times, Jason. Thanks for sharing it here on CAF.

E is for Extinction. Rudy is Forever. Great All time talent! The backgrounds are right out of his classic 70's style and the Cyclops figure shows inking skills that are better than ever.
