Description“They answered an intergalactic distress call -- without knowing who sent it…TEN-FOR, THE MEAN MACHINE” I just love it—have since I cracked the cover to Jack's Machine Man #3 fresh off the racks back in the late '70s. This one follows an original art trend of mine, in that I did some pencils (no tracing, just freehand) of this one as a young teen, probably early ’80’s, added here. This opening splash FINALLY joins up with its following DPS pages 2 & 3 and forms a personal grail. So, I couldn’t be happier to finally post this one, after I picked it up from Burkey back in early 2021. So, shout outs to Mike and a couple others, beyond thx!! Art from 1978 - 11x17. It is nuts that you have this 1-2-3 sequence. It is quintessential Kirby, as pure and brilliant as anything he did. Museum grade. Congratulations!

Kirby's greatness is enhanced by thick and rich inks by Royer. It is no wonder that Royer is held in such high regard amongst Kirby inkers.

Super Kirby splash. But I have always marveled at the dialogue. Could apply to comic art almost wod by word!!!!

As fas as Kirby examples from this title (or any other Kirby title for that matter), this is absolutely stunning! Honestly, it's better than many of the covers. A hearty congratulations on this phenomenal splash!
