Description

Wizard Magazine #173 feature illustration of Banshee’s Irish Wake. Wizard commissioned it when Banshee was killed by Vulcan in X-Men Deadly Genesis #2. As is the case with these pieces, Wizard gave me a laundry list of people to include in the illustration along with a few gag suggestions. Please don't ask me why Luke Cage is there - I don't know but Wizard insisted that he be included and I still have never gotten a plausible explanation.
I did a lot of double-page feature art for Wizard over the years but I think they picked me for this one because it's chock full of stereotypes that specifically poke fun at my heritage (Irish American) so if I drew it, it must have been ok. I don't regret drawing it but I probably would think twice about it if I was asked to draw it now.

Begosh and begorrah, sure, whats wrong with a bit of stereotyping , to be sure, to be sure, haven't all comic book, book and magazine publishers done it.
