Description

From the 2007/2008 mini-series of Captain Marvel: An accident in the Negative Zone propels Captain Marvel from the past to the present day. Now he must come to terms not only with his own impending death, but with the way the world has changed in the time he has been gone.

On this page, Carol Danvers (as Ms Marvel) sends Captain Marvel to the Negative Zone by touching the present day Nega-Bands (that Stark had exhumed from Mar-Vell�s grave on Titan) to his time-displaced Nega-Bands.

I picked the page up because it was an odd cross-over of things I was keen to add to my collection. I wanted some Danvers Captain Marvel and I wanted some Weeks, but having a Weeks Captain Marvel was not a combo I had considered. I find that Weeks has a nice somewhat rugged style that normally suits stuff like Daredevil, Punisher or some Winter Soldier stuff... but having him on a book where a super powerful character is dealing with darker themes of death and mental health really works.

The book's inking is credited to Janson and Delperdang, and with no signature on the page I have no idea which of the two handled this page.

(This is also my first piece featuring Stan Lee's infamous signature... and I'm pleased that it's probably in the best place it could have been on the Art, not ruining any of the nicer areas of the page)

I really liked this page when I saw it in the auction. Glad it went to a good home! Weeks does a great job on everything he touches. Huge congrats!
