Description

One of DC's core war artists offers a tragic romance about a disfigured war bride. The story was by Robert Kanigher, DC's foremost war story author. In this story, a young soldier falls in love with a village girl. The third panel here contains a paste-up editing the first image of her face. Make a good first impression!

I love how Sam Glanzman packed those panels. There's always a detail in each to admire, like that wicker basket. He draws some lovely ladies too.

Emotionally and dramatically romantic storytelling in this moving cross genre masterpiece! The amount of work going into each panel far exceeds what a typical romance comic would have to elicit and run the gamut of emotions.
