Description

This is a blue line inked version of the pencil pages - Here is something I am sure a lot of people never knew existed… back in the mid 80s there was a Phoenix (Rachel Summers) mini series planned… penned by Chris Claremont with art by Rick Leonardi and Dan Green. It was announced in multiple places in print and went as far as Leonardi Penciling the whole issue (Green inked some of the pages too) but ultimately never saw print as marvel was worried about how confusing it could be with the time travel and different universes (to early I guess hello multi verse!). Really interesting stuff as I read up on it after seeing this page of pure Leonardi pencils that he still had!! I scooped it up as soon as I saw it as it is gorgeous! I even had an blue line of it inked by Mark Farmer (separate entry if you want to peak. )

Mark really stuck to inking what was there in the pencils and he did a terrific job.

I'm assuming what's happening on this page is that Rachel decided it was a good idea to visit her dead boyfriend when he was a young child. Yeah, that's not at all going to cause psychological issues for both parties. I do have to say that I would have really liked to have seen this series published.

Nice find, great piece of X art that didn't make it to the publishers. Phoenix (II) is a wild character would be nice to sees the whole story she had with the POWER PACK KIDS.
