Description

Sooooo- every 90s collector remembers when Bishop burst on the X-men scene in issue 282/283 … Bishop Randall and Malcom came through the time portal chasing Fitzroy into the past!! Incredibly memorable introduction for a great X character! But also an incredibly expensive series of art (the great Whilce Portacio too) since that will never happen, when I saw this DPS by Ariel Olivetti (a great artist in his own right) recreating that sequence I had to add it to the collection! What If stories are handy for this type of thing because they usually start by recreating an impactful scene from a meaningful comic!

That camera angle is a testament to Olivetti's skills as a draftsman with just minimal backgrounds on this double wide. The big guns, big muscles, big neckerchiefs, big mullets are a big plus!

Olivetti manages to capture the feel of Portacio's original stories with these characters. I remember thinking that getting rid of Malcolm and Randall so early was a mistake, as I thought there was untapped potential there.
