DescriptionI always hoped to meet Val Kilmer in person to share this page with him.Check out the documentary "Val" on Prime...it is a must see. As much as I am a collector of "serious" historic art pages, I have a fondness for parody pages. Nothing better than poking fun at all our favorite characters. This page from Mad Magazine #337 was from the story "Buttman Fershlugginer" published back in 1995 lampooning the "Batman Forever" movie. This page has the Dr. Chase Meridian character played by Nicole Kidman, the Riddler played by Jim Carrey, and of course Batman/Buttman played by Val Kilmer. Val signed this page in the top left corner and the artist Mort Drucker signed the page as well. I got this page for Free. Many years ago, one of my early art purchases was a different Batman Mad Magazine page. A different collector needed my page to complete his story. He ended up paying me what I paid for that other Batman page and throwing in this Buttman page to complete the trade deal. A "Win/Win" all around. Social/Sharing |

Drucker was a fabulous cartoonist and caricaturist, as this page exemplifies. He is artist Bob McLeod's biggest artistic influence. Great way to get this page for free, Jordan. Great deal!

Captures the movie and the zeitgeist of the times with how the piece goes meta and plays critic, much like how it bemoans about everyone playing critic in the first panel.

as a bigfan of Mad magazine growing up. I always enjoyed these parody's of the hit movie at the time. Classic Drucker at his finest. This is a great addition to your collection Jordan.

I tried like crazy to find a picture of the Buttmobile. That sounds awesome! I loved the guy who said he stayed awake through the opera for the first time ever!
Mort Drucker was brilliant!

A page from a Drucker Mad parody is a ray of sunshine in a dark and dreary world.
