Description

OK, so this isn't a sketch, but it was my one dork moment of the con, so I thought I'd share. So I'm working the CBLDF booth, and this older gentleman and what appears to be his family walk up, and asks me about the Fund. I tell him what we're all about, and all about the Gordon Lee case, and he was astonished by the whole thing. About this time, his wife looks at me and says, "Do you know who this is (pointing to the gentleman)?" I said I didn't, and she replied "That's Dick Donner." I was stunned. The she said "You can close your mouth now." I look over at my buddy Gooch who is working the other side of the booth, and say (pointing at Donner) "Dude, it's Dick Donner!" He replies back "Dude!" and jumps up to meet him. Donner then says, "I'm gonna give you guys some money", and drops $100 bill in the donation can. He was nice enough to sign a autograph for me, and then he moves along. A few minutes later, he comes back, asking for more info because he's "got friends who need to know about this." So he takes an issue of our newsletter Busted!. Hopefully this means we have another high-profile supporter.
