Description

Buster's parents get kind of crabby, but it's all Buster's fault (of course)! Don't overlook how lovely Mary Jane looks in Panels 9-11! Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 18.75" x 21.5". Signed in the last panel. Dated 11 Jan 1914. The strip is partially watercolored as per standard processes at the time. Each character, item, and background was colored the first time it shows up as an example for the printer to use as a guide for the rest of the strip.

Very well preserved piece from the origins of the medium. The work is really fine and well considered in marrying words with pictures.
