Description

Rarely bought these issues but always appreciated Gene Days art. This is all Gene Day and it is signed. Fu Manchu first drew me to the series, but Zeck, Gulacy and Gene Day brought this certain panache to the art. If you saw a page or panel you knew what series it was.

This was the first issue of his official stint as the artist on MOKF.

This page is Gene Day's mastery of the artform. A nine panel page stuffed with his signature style within every one. Primo shots on Shang-Chi throughout with plenty of play of shadows and light across the board for dramatic weight. The 2nd and 5th panels are just fine portrait work with that cool action hero look. The final sequence of meditation over time breaks all of Chaykin's rules about panel borders!
