DescriptionPurchased from Heritage in 2022. Calvo is the artist of one of my favorite works, La bête est morte!, which recounts World War II with animals.I have not been lucky enough to find a page, but I remain on the hunt. I am happy to have this Coquin page, the second of my Calvo collection:From the Heritage description: Edmond-François Calvo Coquin le Gentil Cocker Story Page 1 Original Art (Gautier-Languereau, 1953). Edmond-François Calvo was a French cartoonist, nicknamed "The French Walt Disney" for his graphic style and his animal-based characters. This series, Coquin, the Sweet Cocker Spaniel, was published between 1952 and 1954. Ink on Bristol paper with an image area of 8" x 10.75". Each strip has been cut out and repositioned on a Bristol backing board for presentation purposes. White out. In Good condition. Social/Sharing |
