Description

In 1976 I discovered Jim Aparo drawing Batman and Kamandi in The Brave & the Bold #120, it was a slap in my head !
In 1979 I discovered John Byrne drawing Iron Fist in Iron Fist #6, it was another slap in my head !
In 1981 I discovered Jim Aparo inking a Marvel artist who was making his debut at DC ... John Byrne, in The untold legend of the Batman #1 ! it was another slam in my head !
For years this issue was my grail !
In 2019, it's my childhood grail came to reality ! My ultimate slap in my head came to reality too !

So awesome that Aparo would add his signature brow wrinkles and heavy inks on the backgrounds. The panel within the Batcave is fantastic.

This was a truly interesting combination. You can (play at) detect(ing) both artist on the page but for me, it's more Aparo than Byrne here.
