DescriptionFeaturing a bloody and battle-worn Spider-Man, the striking imagery by Jim Cheung takes one's breath away! You can feel the heat radiating off the superhero and the cover makes the viewer seriously wonder whether Spidey is going to make it to the next issue! My first Jim Cheung cover (at least I think it is), I love his run on the AVX series and am a massive fan of any and all art by the man! I remember when the news first broke about the AVX run and the subsequent hype that followed! Everyone THOUGHT it was going to be your basic throw-down between the two superhero teams, Avengers vs. X-Men, but what actually transpired probably wasn't what folks were expecting. Either way, while the actual story ebbed and flowed, the overall art (especially the covers) was generally top notch, and so I was super happy when I added this Spider-themed cover to my collection! Nobody does battle-damaged Spidey better than Cheung! Congrats on an all-timer. Inky goodness that's more memorable than the AvX storyline, imo. Congrats!

Cheung was on annual summer event books for a while as his style adapted well to any big crossovers that put together all the Marvel superheroes. He makes them all shine and Cheung's Spidey is really dramatic and compelling.

So sensational! You can feel the wear and tear upon old webhead's shoulders with this striking battle image. Poor Parker has definitely seen better times. Congrats on this web-dripping gem!

So cool! Cheung going to town on the details, from Spidey to the background! I remember this cover distinctly. Congrats!

MEGA-CONGRATS, Simon! Yowza, everyone love a battle-weary Spidey, and I'd say you have as close to a definitive take as there is, here. Incredible Jim Cheung pencils and righteous Mark Morales inks concoct a crazy cover cocktail of gorgeous details, drama, and atmosphere... but even all that together can't upstage the display of sheer determination and willpower of our hero here. "That all you got?" Indomitable. Beautiful piece, Simon!
