Description

LOVE John Romita Jr. art, and sooooooooo lucky to get this cover AND complete issue! Thanks to Spencer Beck for letting me know when it was available for sale!

"The Invisible Mafia ends tonight."
— Superman

Synopsis for "The House of Kent, Part Four"
Years ago, at a small diner on Earth-3, Marisol Leone met up with Dr. Glory, who had resources that could help them escape from this universe and into another. Glory was so excited by Leone's decision to leave Earth-3 that she had decided she wanted to go with her, even though the idea of a partner wasn't exactly appealing to Leone. Suddenly, the two women watch as a fight breaks out between the Crime Syndicate and an enemy faction, causing Leone to say that she really needs to leave this Earth.

In the present, Superman and his allies fly across Metropolis and attempt to find the remnants of the Invisible Mafia. Superman had previously sent his findings to Lois and instructed her to publish them as soon as possible, even saying that she should go to the Daily Star and contact Lana Lang if the Daily Planet was unavailable. Superman has made it clear that no matter what happened, the Invisible Mafia would end tonight. Superman's team arrives at an abandoned building and uncovers the Invisible Mafia's base of operations, completely abandoned.

Dr. Glory, one of Leone's associates, makes her way back to S.T.A.R. Labs and finds that Red Cloud has already killed the security guards inside. Glory activates an interdimensional portal and summons a large purple creature that Leone plans to use to kill Superman. According to Glory, the creature is basically a more powerful version of the Parasite and that it killed a Superman from another universe and absorbed even more power.

As Superman's team returns to the Daily Planet, Superman detects the purple creature coming right for him and he tries to intercept it. Realizing that this creature is dangerous, Conner attacks it, but the creature starts absorbing his energy.

Meanwhile, the Daily Planet crew is debating on whether or not Clark's story about the Invisible Mafia should be published. Agent Cameron Chase says that while no one from the Daily Planet is under arrested, the Daily Planet itself is still under investigation, but Lois says that her own lawyer says that it was the Daily Planet that launched the investigation in the first place, so it should be allowed to continue its public service. Suddenly, Marisol Leone barges into the Daily Planet, demanding to know where Lois is. She blames Lois for making up facts about her and printing them without authorization.

Suddenly, Jon crashes into the floor and tells everyone to hide, as the large purple creature breaks into the building, followed closely by Superman and his team. Superman tells his allies that the creature has the same powers as the Parasite does, which means that they cannot touch it. Unfortunately, the creature is still grabbing hold of Conner and, despite the best efforts of Superman's team, completely absorbs his energy, causing the exhausted boy to collapse to the ground. As the fight continues, Leone tells Lois to come to her house.

Great dramatic cover to the story that has all the Superman Family in shadows except for the heads and iconic symbols!  Only from JRJR and Janson!

Romita Jr. doing the Superman Family? Yes, please! I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that Romita Jr's art hit another level durign the new millenium when inking god Klaus Janson began pairing up with him. Fabulous stuff!

My original comment was going to be how my jaw dropped from seeing a supergirl drawn by JRJR but to see you have the cover and the entire book is just an amazing accomplishment. Just Wow
