DescriptionPg 8 of the 12 pg story The Weeping Walloper from John Wayne Adventure Comics #8 (Toby, 1951) ...........Al signs his whole name on the title page, and on pg 12 (?), and Frank only signs the small double-F sigil..........................Like Frazetta's earliest Ace ERB cover paintings that were actually submitted under Krenkel's contract from Ace so that they realized that they could also call upon Frank for work (in fact FF's first two actually say the cover is by Krenkel inside!), this JW story was contracted to Al Williamson by Toby, but Frank ended up helping his pal by doing pencil revisions to a lot of it, and of course in inking it as well made the work very much his own, the same as when Wally Wood inks anyone's work, it becomes Wally's; image area 18x12"Social/Sharing |
