I can't ecactly place why, but this one has always had a pull on me even stronger than many other Powers covers. Bythe way, I'm getting a strong sense of deja vu. Didn't you already post this one once?

No, a friend John Davis owned it and i got it from him recently. He had it up with all the rest of his great ones!
I've also always loved this one as well. I like seeing his non sci-fi work since they are not as common.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. Yeah, you might have just hit the nail on the head as to why this one always attracted me more than many others. It's great to see him do a different genre. I mean, a hand gun on a Powers cover? Who would've imagined? But I also kind of love that in spite of getting to do a different genre, he still couldn't get fully away from the Science Fiction elements!

It's actually pretty early in his book career, he started only a couple years before this so i bet his style came out of his fine art he was probably doing then as well. He certainly did quite a bit of that through his lifetime and many of them could have been covers if he just stuck in a ship or an alien face.
