Description

A splendid unpublished cover by the too rare Chris Wozniak.

It features a terrific Namor fighting Diablo the alchemist foe of the Fantastic Four. We also see Red Raven (Dania) in the background (her first appearance).

A truly dynamic composition of a cover, helped by clever use of negative space and splendid inking which reminds me of Terry Austin�s in terms of precision and technique.

This was likely drawn as an intended cover to Marvel Super Heroes 8 which featured a story involving all 3 characters AND the first appearance of Red Raven(Dania).

OR this could be an inventory cover. On the back of the art, Chris wrote and signed �Terry, I did this cover on �spec� but I didn�t have any cover stock. Hope it is ok�. I believe that the Terry mentioned is Terry Kavanagh as he was editor on the Namor series relaunched by Byrne and to its very end. Was Chris Wozniak tapped at some point to take over or to pencil a cover or a fill in in that serie? We will never know. It remains unpublished to my knowledge.

Drawn full bleed on regular Marvel art board (11 x 17) and in excellent condition, signed and dated by Chris (1990).

I'm a fan of Wozniak's early '90s work and this piece is a true gem ! Thank you for unearthing and sharing this cool piece !
