Description2018 saw a fantastic burst of creativity from Jinxworld, including such great (and great looking) reads as ‘Pearl’, ‘The United States of Murder, Inc.’, the return of ‘Scarlet’, and Brian Bendis and David Mack’s ‘Cover’.Here’s Nick Derington’s stunning variant cover to ‘Cover’ #3. Beautiful touch and great shading details in Nick’s crazy, rich blue pencils here, including the folds of clothing, the shadows throughout, even the textures on the walls… Really impressive work that I am thrilled to display. Thanks again, Brent! Social/Sharing |

First of all, I LOVE blue pencil. To get a chance to see a cover done entirely in blue pencil and not have it inked is a fairly rare opportunity, so I'm all in on this for that reason alone. But that it's finished, nice and tight and then even published this way, that's the bee's ever lovin' knees, baby!

I really dig the blues. Looks so much cooler than the printed version.

Nick's finished pencil work is fantastic. Possibly better than his pen/ink. Always loved this piece.

Yo, pencils up here's a story
About a comic guy
That spies in a blue world
And all day and all night
And Derington he sees us just blue
Like him inside and outside
Max Field crouch
Folder truth confidential
It's a blue asset
And David Mack is blue as him
Got himself a Cover story around
Cause he ain't got no Bendis to listen to
I'm blue

That's a fun one. I love the tension it brings and is promprting to open the book to read what's happening.

I really need to look into one of these Derington blue pieces. I love the detail that comes through with the color. Great example, Jason - congrats!
