Description

Michael Allred is an American comic book artist and writer most famous for his independent comics creations, Madman and iZombie. I've probably read all his books, but my favorite Allred books where all the Madman, the Fantastic Four spinoff series, FF, in 2013 and the 2014-2015 Silver Surfer series at Marvel. His style is often compared to pop art, as well as commercial and comic art of the 1950s and 1960s.

I has this idea of hitting him up for a commission this past year, CSA vs Legion, but when I came across the Dark Crisis #3 (OF 7) CVR C Michael Allred Crisis #1 Perez homage in a DC add I decided to reach out to his art rep and see if it was still available. I got lucky. Thanks to Simon (Got Super Powers) and Mike for letting this one go.

Mike Allred is a modern master and this Dark Crisis cover shows why. I do not know a modern artist who better combines a sense of the absurd with seriousness. What a great piece.
