Description1st full appearance of the Winter Soldier. There’s a little bit of a debate about this which reminds me of the Hulk 180 vs 181 debate or Venom ASM 298 (Venom’s hands) vs 299 vs 300. There are small teases of his hand and feet in previous issues but CGC (and others) lists this book as the definitive first full appearance of the character. There are only two pages in this book he appears: this one and one 16 pages later where they reveal the Winter Soldier’s secret identity is Bucky. As this is the first page of the issue, it contains the first panel where we see his entire body, the first time we see the Winter Soldier costume, and he is literally in every panel with dialogue, it’s good enough for me as his first full appearance.Additionally, there is a massive brick count and considering I had the opportunity to give Anthony the win on the longest dueling dealers recap ever I had to do it. Great pick up for the comic book significance and for one of the most memorable Dueling Dealers events of the year introducing a more volitile re-recap element into the show. The page builds mystery with great shadow work only showing what Brubaker and Epting want to reveal in this key issue.

As valid a reason as any. I would have accepted, doing it for the clicks, or chicks. As if that'll ever happen from comic art.

Ah, the hand and feet in previous issues debate. Which came first? I solved that one myself by getting the foot first appearance and then tracking down the full appearance of Danger in Astonishing X-Men. Now all you have to do is track down the hand and feet appearances. Lol. All things considered I would be very happy with this and am sure you are.

Haha. Yeah I've tracked down the feet appearance but I'm on the fence lol. This will do for now ;) Thanks for the comment!

Phenomenal page from a modern classic arc
I hate to admit it but it wasn't until the Winter Soldier film that I went back to this series and really appreciated this comic. Either way I got there eventually! Thanks for the comment :)

Historic Captain America page! I love the opening panel with the dark basement lit only by the light from a computer-like machine. In the dim light we begin to see the man operating the controls. Then we see him leave the room, open a car trunk with his metallic arm and see the hostage in his car trunk. Wow! What a spooky opening scene! And waht a historic first appearance! Great pick-up, congrats!
