Description

Caanan and Degrassi legend Pat "Joey Jeremiah" Mastroianni pitched Degrassi Adventures to an unnamed publisher who lacked the vision to give it the greenlight. That pitch got far enough along that he'd drawn covers for the first two issues. The cover to issue one was given to Pat while this one remained with Caanan. I told him of my love of all things Degrassi and he was kind enough to part with it this.

Thanks! And, no, not exactly but Principal Raditch as a sea creature is a nod to one of my favourite episodes with Scooter, Bart and their misadventure with Sea Creatures they ordered from an ad in the back of a comic book. It always comes back to comics!

Fun stuff, Mike! I have great memories of watching the original 4 after school specials, the single season The Kids of Degrassi Street, Degrassi Junior High, Degrassi High and I personally finished with the summer movie, School's Out in 1992. That was the end of an era, and I'd lost complete interest by the time they began The Next Generation a decade later. I watched the first few episodes just because I thought it was cool that a couple of the classic characters had regular roles as teachers, parents, etc., but it just wasn't the same for me anymore. But I'm thinking you probably watched the entire Next Generation, right?

Thanks! Yes, I wached Next Generation as well as Next Class. Kids of Degrassi Street through Degrassi High are inarguably the best the franchise has to offer though. I was psyched for the new series simply titled "Degrassi" on HBO Max but it got scrapped after changes at the company. I've always got the reruns though!
