DescriptionSooooooo…. I say this a lot.. but friends in this hobby are the best part of it. Going to NYCC this year I really only wanted to do a couple things.., one of those things was getting a sketch of Ghost Rider by one of my favorite artists growing up .. I worked on lining it up before the show and seamed to have all my ducks in a row. I was pretty excited and shared what was going on with buddy Eranga , a fantastic published artist in his own right, but also a fan boy like me. I went as far as printing up some boards with a GR logo and everything! At the show I was where I needed to be when I needed to be but to my dismay the artist I wanted didn’t show up! Totally bummed it didn’t work out.. but after the show a bunch of us went to dinner at a mutual friends house and half joking around with Eranga I said well maybe you can do something with this printed board. Hahah joke joke … but as only a true friend would do … Eranga coming to the show as only a fan , having no art tools with him and a wicked hangover from partying it up… went the Frank Cho route and picked up the Hilton ball point pen in his hotel room and came up with this awesome rendition of the spirit of vengeance! And years from now when an Eranga Ballpoint illustration becomes a thing .. I can say I have the first!! Thank you so much Eranga not only for the art but being a fantastic friend!Social/Sharing |

When I'm in a hotel and there's a ballpoint pen, I play tic-tac-toe or use it to scratch my ear. Eranga makes art. Hmph. Beautiful!

Just to confirm: get Eranga sloshed, half sober him up, lock him in a hotel room with a stack of art board and a box of hotel pens, shake, wait 6 hours, then poor hot art into a portfolio to cool. Got it!

Devasurendra
You were drawn Ghost Rider
In his blood, a mighty fire
Driven by his tires
Glory calls, roads waitin' for ya
When they didn't make the town
You can take it, that won't shake you
When your back's against the wall
The thrill of the Eranaga standin' tall
Devasurendra
Never Say Thigh
You got the art of a hero
Devasurendra
His ballpoint is live
He's hatching strong in the eye of a con
Something keeps pushing him on
