Description

The AXE is a 6-part storyline that appeared in Heavy Metal throughout 2022, written by comedian Brian Posehn and Joe Trohman, the guitarist for Fallout Boy and The Damned Things, and drawn by Scott Koblish (me), it was my first foray into Horror and Adult-themed artwork, and this is the spread for the 2nd installment (the second issue) within the magazine. I covered up some of the naughty bits, but it's for Heavy Metal and I felt obliged to draw in some horror filled nudity.

The pages are all hand-drawn in India ink on 2-ply Bristol board with an art area of 10� x 13.5� (magazine dimensions). I have an auction of ALL of the original comic artwork from the Axe coming up at Heritage Auctions during the November 17 - 18, 2022 Comics & Comic Art Signature Auction and this is a spread from that auction. The auction is for all 120 pages, the entirety of the book. Link to auction below:
