A wonderful throwback to Fantastic Four #4, with Namor coming to kidnap Sue and get revenge on all surface dwellers! Shout out to to Rick Buckler who was always a solid penciller and also to Bob McLeod, whose inks were always my first choice over Buckler's pencils. A beaut for a beaut!

Congratulations on a special piece of art! Great reimagining of the classic cover of FF issue 4. Subby is the spicey pepper in the Fantastic Four falafel!

I love me some Bob McLeod! Usually inking Wookiees and Ewoks and Hutts and such, but that's a fine Four and Namor. It's a beauty Marcus.

Wow! Corker of a cover here, Marcus! A fun reimagining of FF #4, of course, with Namor and Sue really benefiting from the Buckler and McLeod treatment - REALLY strong figure work! I love the fact that we're at issue #7 here and only NOW hitting Subby's first Silver Age appearance... Talk about decompressed storytelling! Although I suppose if one rose too quickly through the story, one (or one's comic / comic art?) might end up with the bends...? Thanks for sharing, Marcus! Great post!

Buckler and McLeod for the win! Taking the classic FF #4 cover and bringing even more detail & drama to the image. I'm always excited when another Saga of the Sub-Mariner cover surfaces, and this one is an absolute gem. Congrats!

Yum. This cover fueled many a thought when I was wee lad.
Great composition...the characters coming right at us, all 5 faces visible, high drama, action and dyamicism. It's a keeper!

Alternatively, you can hum the above words to yourself to the tune of: Nearer, My God, to Thee

Marcus - on so many levels this is the BEST cover in the series! So true to Subby's feelings towards Sue, and the fights he's had with the FF!
I wish I had your poetry, so I'll just say this - Congrats on a STUNNING Subby cover! Just gorgeous!

Namor, you horn dog...Sue's married! Yeah, you're massively strong and a king...but you think you're going to steal the wife of the smartest guy on the planet who can stretch? Limperious Rex! This is gorgeous Buckler work. I've always really liked his work from this issue. I want to steal this like Namor is stealing Sue! 😉 Fantastic score!

This piece will hopefully always be waiting for you. I can see a parody with a collector, this or a similar piece, a single table of course lit with a candle, some flowers, your music choice, and many cut scenes with a whirl of emotions between the two over a romantic dinner lol.

This was the first series where I actually found the Sub-Mariner! Was a fun read, and the covers killed. Case in point! And, yet again, we got Subby tryin' to make Sue his own :) Rich Buckler doesn't get enough play when we mention the all time greats! Congrats, man!
