Description

I recently volunteered to highlight art with Bill on the CAF Update, and the process of looking through all the art posted for a week yielded three purchases I was absolutely delighted with. This one was a pure nostalgia buy. I had this issue and as a stand-alone it was the perfect story to re-read endlessly.

The story kicks off immediately, and I love the little crossword dialogue. Kalindra's glasses are immediately captivating and who can resist a skunk stripe on a forward fox? Not this Pepe Le Pew.

This page may have to be read dramatically. The dialogue is wonderfully over the top. The Bridge! We'll be KILLED! Worry not, m'lady...

Not to mention the Ebon night.

Do you believe in fate? I do, now.

I'm not sure why there is glue residue over the image in the 7th panel - I checked this against the published image and it's identical, so it might have been some zip over the Specter to give him an ethereal feel.

This page tickles me silly.

I wish more women would wear glasses like Kalindra's. I can see why Jim Corrigan pulled the old "ask for help with a crossword puzzle and then have your spectral aspect save the train" move to get her attention.
