Description

Kurt Busiek's Astro City contains analogues of most major Marvel and DC characters. In this gift illustration, Busiek's version of Captain America breaks through the skylight, no doubt surprising some malfeasants. Alex Ross designed his costume to readily evoke the chainmail top/buccaneer boot look of Steve Rogers, plus a helmet recalling Kirby/Simon's other shield-slinging paladin, The Guardian. I don't know who Bill and Nadine are, but I am sure they enjoyed owning this piece originally.

With most of the Astro City covers handled by Alex Ross, a Brent Anderson large image like this is as fine as you can get for Siver Agent.
