DescriptionKurt Busiek tries his hand at a rise-and-fall 'E! True Hollywood Story.' This page is part of the 'falling' arc of Loony Leo, a cartoon lion who makes the leap into the real world of Astro City. At first he's riding high, but soon he's getting arrested in bar fights (panels 1-2) and then getting caught in a seedy hotel room with the drugged-up corpse of an underage hooker (panels 4-5). After that, here come the tabloids, pouncing for the kill before moving on to another victim. Anderson and Blyberg make the stylistic mix of cartoon and realism work on this palindromic page. Notice how the man's swinging fist in the first panel matches the woman's dead arm out stretched in the last panel, in both cases knocking Loony Leo for a loop.Social/Sharing |

Another nice short one issue story by Waid. Anderson had to be very concise in storytelling and map it out so every page keeps the story moving forward. A standout as even an animated character could show such pathos.
