Description

Come with me back in the time machine. (wavy lines, hot tub bubbles, etc.)

ROTJ came out in 83 and back then we'd get a SW movie, merch and then maybe some comics. Based on the popularity of the Ewoks, Lucas put out a cartoon series called Ewoks geared towards a younger audience and then also Droids. Turns out, even today, I use these as recos to friends as a way to intro kids to the SW world. No arms being cut off, no scary bad guys.

Anyway, they put out a comic book companion to the animated series.

Ok, here we have page 1 of issue 1 - basically a birth of birth births pages (h/t to Jordan Joanou) ;-)

We see Wicket, Kneesaa and Teebo caught in a thunderstorm while gathering some sunberry's.

This is double-up art so I had to use my camera to scan it.

Happy to be the caretaker of this 37yr old page.

Ewoks was a fourteen-issue series of comics published by Star Comics, an imprint of Marvel Comics, from 1985 to 1987. The series was a tie-in to the animated series and was aimed at a young audience. An annual published in the UK in 1988 features stories reprinted from this series plus some original short stories.

A fifteenth issue of the series was solicited but never published

A #1 of a #1!! Whoot! I have often wondered how far along that 15th issue may have been, and if there is any art floating around out there?

Great splash to the first issue! This issue came out before the animated series, so they probably had the designs to work with.
