Description

A curious piece for me. I am, obviously, a big fan of Swamp Thing, and who doesn't like Bruce Timm. Timm is without doubt one the best comic book artist of his generation. He has a sense of finding the greatest action scenes and combining that with insight into what makes each character great. I was on the fence on this piece, I didn't feel as though Timm really captured the essence of the Wrightson piece inspired by this. Turns out Timm hasn't done much Swamp Thing, I found one other, so I decided it should join my collection. Bright and clean on 8 1/2 11 on comic board. Drawn lightly in graphite and inked with what looks like a brush pen.

Timm is adapting these characters for an animation feel, so there is a compromise to get mainly the essentials down with the brow and the eyes being most important.
