Description

I have wanted a page from John Lewis' terrific and award-winning graphic novel biography since it came out. Finally, Nate Powell's (the artist) art rep made a few pages available for sale. I had met Nate at the Michigan State University Comic Art symposium a few years ago, and asked him about pages then. He was not selling any. So this was a great opportunity that I could not pass up.

The scene depicted is when Lewis was part of the freedom riders. This is the 57th page from the second volume of March.

UPDATE: I subsequently saw Nate Powell again at the Ann Arbor Comic Arts festival and bought a three-volume set of "March" from him that he graciously signed and remarqued for me. He even signed this page in volume 2.
