It's illustrative brilliance to evoke such a ghostly mood where the stare in panel two is haunting enough to power the entire page. Breccia's dramatic shadows and light are not only in the faces, but in the environment.

Incredible use of lighting to perfectly set the mood.

Another reason these pieces need no color. Perfection in black and white.
