This MAX series gave Ennis the runway to have the creative freedom he had at Vertigo and once again push the envelope to destroy the comics code authority. Robertson's art is gritty and convincing for the military scenes where no punches are spared.

A game-changing series for the character. And Ennis. The bridge between the more Tarantino-esque Marvel Knights iteration to reaching new heights with the Max series. Ennis found his tone here. Also: The best Frank Castle story ever. Congrats!
