Okay, this work may be the most stylish piece of art that I own. Personally, I don't think original comic art really can get any more beautiful than this. I wouldn't consider selling this drawing even for a tenfold price that I paid.

I'm of a younger generation of Tex Willer readers so Letteri was never an artist I learned to fall in love with like some older readers have. At best, however, his artwork can be extremely delicate and elegant, which I think this piece especially shows. It's a shame that pictures can never capture the impact of seeing this drawing live. The lines here are very thin and yet completely controlled. The black ink remains crisp like it was drawn only recently. The technique seems so simple, yet it expresses so much. Ticci and Villa draw the most beautiful Tex Willers, but I'm still not sure Tex has ever looked as good as he does here. This is a masterpiece by a master at the height of his craft, of this I am sure.

What makes this work all the more special is that I'm not sure another drawing of this rate and type exists by Letteri. At the least, I have never come across such a drawing. Letteri was a prolific artist, but he mainly focused on producing an extraordinary amount of story pages. This drawing was published in the Italian "Tex e il sogno continua" -publication as part of a biographical profile of Letteri. The title for that publication stands for "Tex and the dream continues"; I believe Letteri truly shared this dream and poured all of his love for the character into this drawing.
