Description

This page first appeared in black and white as part of the short story "Saint Cole" in the comic anthology Now #8 (2020) and was later collected and colored in Van Sciver's "As a Cartoonist" (2022).

It's a "De Luca Effect" page but it's hard not to imagine that Noah takes a bit more inspiration from Frank King with this comic technique that he uses every so often. Lots of ink on this page and something to look at in every corner of it.

I prefer how it looks in the original non colored Now printing as it really shines when you only see all the minute details of his line and the texture it creates, the coloring in "As a Cartoonist" takes away from what I think is the strongest thing about the page. Regardless still a wonderful page.

Visually delightful storytelling with an easy flow even amongst all the jeopardy and death if they make one wrong turn.
