DescriptionThe page that almost started it all for me. Back in 2019, Jim Lee was announced for the Motor City Comic Con in Detroit. Living in Southwest Ohio, Jim never seemed to come close to where I lived. But Detroit was only a 5 hour drive. So my sister, my wife (who was 7 months pregnant) and I all jumped in the car and drove to Detroit. After meeting Jim, I was flipping through the various art binders, looking a pages well outside my means when I landed on this page. You’ve got Superman, Lois Lane and a great shot of Lex Luthor (in hologram form) all on one page and it was something I could feasibly buy. Now, it was still way more expensive than anything I’d collected and it was a huge decision for me so I asked my wife’s opinion. Surprisingly she argued that for only 100 more, I could get a full page with better shots of all the characters on the page right before this one. So I bought my first piece of original artwork. I walked into the signing praying for a quick sketch but left with an original page. This one was, unfortunately, left behind. Fast forward to this past December. I managed to secure page 28 from the same book. So when I found out this page was coming up for sale, I felt it was only fitting that page I originally planned to buy now join the ColLEXion. I love Jim’s Superman and there are only a handful of Lex pages out there. So having three consecutive Superman AND Lex pages from my favorite artist of all time is something I never dreamed of 4 years ago. And all because a fellow CAF member worked out a payment plan that allowed me to buy it.Social/Sharing |

This series marked the 75th anniversary of Superman and was also during the New 52 relaunch as a touchstone of those events. Three consecutive pages is a big achievement when it comes to Jim Lee art if they had to be put together after they were initially offered.
