11.25x17" DC Comics Sparta artboard features pen and ink original art for cover to Action Comics #518, published by DC Comics April 1981. Art is by Ross Andru (1927-1993) w/inks by Dick Giordano (1932-2010) and features Superman rushing to stop aliens who removed dam w/large clamps, flooding the town below as its citizens flee in panic. Artboard has original title and publishing indicia stat paste-overs as well as stat for Aquaman backup story. Superman's thought balloon is pasted stat as well. Of note, Superman, alien clamp and closest townspeople were inked differently than majority of town, dam and its floodwaters, which have aged to brown in color. Top margin has inked title, publication date and issue number. Back has DC Comics copyright inkstamp and printers job inkstamp as well as large "Do Not Use This Side" inkstamp. Margins shows moderate aging/wear w/moisture rippling at lower left, but art remains clean and VF overall and would make for nice framed display.
