Description

Steve Englehart wrote this Native American-themed series for Marvel's Epic line; it ran sixteen issues. I detect the influence of Howard Chaykin's madcap action satire American Flagg. At this point in the story, Coyote is hanging out with his friend Badger watching the Humphrey Bogart film 'The Maltese Falcon' on TV. Tecate is a brand of Mexican beer; I don't know about 'Asaharp.' The heavy use of hatching on Badger's face presages the Image Comics style of the 90s. The horizontal scan lines on the TV images were rendered with white paint on top of the ink.
